Superman, also known as the Man of Steel, is a legendary superhero in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, Superman first appeared in Action Comics #1 in 1938. Born as Kal-El on the alien planet Krypton, he was sent to Earth by his parents Jor-El and Lara before the planet's destruction. Raised as Clark Kent by the Kent family in Smallville, Kansas, he grew up to become the iconic superhero known for his incredible powers, unwavering moral code, and commitment to justice.
